IIFT came out with its shortlist for the next round of GDPI and essay for the batch of 2017-19 as well a few a days back. The shortlist consists of 1973 candidates for admission to the MBA (IB) programme across the Delhi and Kolkata campuses for a total of 360 seats. The next stage will be held next year tentatively around the last week of January/first week of February.
The entire list can be seen here: IIFT 2017-19 interview shortlist
As is given in the RTI reply, the institute gave a weight of 60% to the written score and so, the ones who have scored well have a bit of a head start. Also, a longer GD and an essay component would be particularly helpful to relieve aspirants of the first-call-of-the-season jitters. There is a special focus on business knowledge and as has been seen in many of the previous year interview experiences, it pays to be aware of a bit of business-related happenings.
All the best to all the call getters (which include a few of our classroom students as well. Yay!). As you might already be aware, IIFT gives a higher chance of conversion compared to almost all other institutes and someone who is especially focused on converting this call would definitely get through if s/he focuses on a few aspects of the process. We will be coming up with specific GDPI sessions soon to help the aspirants crack the first biggie of the season. Keep watching this space for more details.
